We are contract with Arizona Complete Health and AHCCCS to provide Supported Employment Services (SE) to individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), mental health conditions, and substance use disorders.
Supported employment is an evidence-based practice designed to help individuals with mental health conditions secure and maintain competitive jobs. This approach, particularly known as Individual Placement and Support (IPS), emphasizes the following key principles:
- Eligibility for All: Every individual who desires to work is considered eligible, regardless of their mental health status.
- Competitive Employment Focus: The primary goal is to help clients find jobs in the competitive labor market, rather than sheltered or non-competitive positions.
- Integration with Treatment: Employment services are integrated with mental health treatment, ensuring that support is available as needed.
- Personalized Job Search: Clients are supported in finding jobs that match their interests and skills, promoting a sense of ownership and motivation.
Services Include:
- Pre- Work Training
- Providing direct Supported Employment services to individuals, including job development, placement, and follow-along support.
- Connecting members to sustainable employment
- Deliver direct employment services - Job Development, Job Coaching, etc.
- Interest Career Assessment
- Clerical Technology Training
- On-going employment support
Since Empowering Services is dually contracted with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), we can coordinate services to provide individuals with consistent, ongoing employment support. When an individual receives services through both programs, they may continue receiving Supported Employment Services through Empowering Services after their Vocational Rehabilitation case closes, subject to applicable program requirements and service authorization.
Unlike time-limited services, on-going Supported Employment Services allow us to continue assisting and advocating for individuals beyond the initial 90-day period, as appropriate. Our goal is to help each individual maintain employment, address workplace challenges, develop job-related skills, and achieve long-term success. Empowering Services is committed to providing continued support based on each individual's needs, goals, and desire to participate in services, in accordance with applicable program guidelines.
